” In like a Lion, out like a lamb” If that is the correct phrase then maybe there is hope for the remainder of our spring.
Within the last few weeks we have been playing host to storm after storm, tornado, flood, you name it. Yesterday, April 25th multiple tornadoes touched down in the vicinity of Brady Mountain causing massive damage to trees, houses and loss of life. It may be days or weeks before some parts of this area get back to normal. Those that lost person or property our prayers are with you.
This storm system also brought a torrential amount of much needed rain all at once, which means – flooding. In one day alone Lake Ouachita rose almost 4 feet, and in that past 10 days it has risen 7+ feet. Area creeks and streams are flowing a much needed supply of water into the reservoir. With it, it is bringing a large volume of silt and debris. My expectation is that water clarity will be diminished within the next few days.

The good news is that we were still historically down on water levels, so this water is needed to make it through a long hot summer. A few days of murky water in the spring is a fair price to pay for higher water levels all summer long.
I am ready for the lamb part of the saying…. what about you?
