Sometimes things do come is small packages….really small.
One of the new bows we have in the shop is the latest from Mathews, the Z7 Xtreme. And it’s claim to fame is its small size, which makes it great for hunting from a blind or a tree stand. One of the great benefits of working here at the shop is the ability to take the new bows back into the archery range and try them out. The Z7 Xtreme was no different.
Small? Yes. It is a full 2 inches shorter than the Z7 but what is surprising is there is no loss of power or speed. With up to 330 fps this little bow packs some punch. It just simply “feels” right in your hands, like it was meant to be shot. In shooting this bow it does feel a bit more top heavy than other Mathews bow, but I assume this is by design. This bow is quiet and smooth as you would expect and most peoples first words are ” simply awesome”. This bow is a bit pricier than the Z7, but for those that are looking for a compact bow that packs the same punch as the larger offerings, the Z7 Xtreme is a bow to consider.
